business consulting business strategy analytical thinking communicationGiven the constantly changing nature of the business environment, it is very important to understand the emergent challenges facing an organization. How should an organization react and motivate employees given its environment? In this capstone project, 200+ student-consultants working in small groups will evaluate both external and internal environments of an organization toward offering practical solutions to respond to the emergent challenges. Only the top projects will be shared with the company.
Our students will perform both macro-level and industry level external environment analysis, along with internal environment analysis, to redesign your organization (e.g. HRM, leadership/culture, etc) and will make available their findings and recommendations in the form of video pitches and written reports. This course is the capstone, practice-focused course for 3rd-year bachelor students in a Business Management degree.
The course runs for 12 weeks and students are based in Singapore.
Learners
You may be a CEO or Senior Manager needing assistance to ensure the ongoing viability of your business organization. Or there may be other pressing challenges in the current environment requiring rethinking how your company operates. Our students will provide you with a wholistic analysis of internal and external factors toward a re-design of organizational processes. The final deliverables will be:
1. Six or seven selected 6 minutes video presentation of key findings and recommendations
2. A detailed action plan including research, analysis, insights, and recommendations upon request.

Project examples
Requirements
Beginning in July, students in groups of 4-6 will work with your company to identify the emergent challenges facing your organization and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project examples include but are not limited to:
- Organizational alignment (HRM, leadership, culture, etc): Providing recommendations on what methods you can use to leverage and improve your organizational processes, based on your organization's constraints and current strategy.
- Revision of organizational strategy: Providing insight and recommending sustainable strategies given the business environment.
- Diagnosing the emergent challenges: Identifying and analyzing opportunities and threats, as well as strengths and weaknesses of an organization.
- Recently students provided consultation for a major accounting firm, to help transform their personal advisory service, to meet the complex challenges of Covid19
- Consultation on behavior change management.
