Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Report: Each student group will submit a written report that details the problem, suggests alternatives, and provides a recommended solution.

Project examples

Requirements

Beginning late June, groups of 5 student-consultants will spend 900 collective hours over a 5-week period working to solve an organizational challenge.

Based on your goals and the information you provide, groups will collaborate to investigate, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop an action plan that addresses your leadership or management challenge.

Sample student projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing/redesigning an internal system or process related to on-boarding, employee engagement, change management, talent management, or work/life balance.
  • Developing/refining a balanced scorecard.
  • Developing a plan to address employee turnover/employee retention.
