Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program are poised to succeed in the integrated work areas of: • Describe how employment legislation impacts human resources • Design human resources policies and programs • Facilitate employee training and development • Ensure health and safety in the workplace • Recruit and select employees • Promote diversity • Manage performance • Recommend strategic change initiatives • Develop a total rewards system • Manage employee/labour relations • Create a comprehensive human resources plan Students are required to complete 4-5 hours per week of placement between May to June 2022.

Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the partnership period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program are given an introduction to the new world of communication, building skills in five specific areas: choosing effective communication channel; critical thinking through verbal and written message; business writing; research strategies and material usage; and presentation and job search strategies. Students will be exposed to writing basic business documents and utilizing information data bases, citation, and referencing of materials.
Public Administration

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Keyano College to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. This course focuses on the practical implications of public administration and emphasizes the differences between the private sector and public sector management regimes. Public administration is examined at the federal, provincial, and local levels with particular focus on how government functions. Through historical, contextual, and theoretical perspectives an overview of public administration is given that includes policy activities and decision-making, governmental processes and structures, human relation issues, and performance measurement.

Students in this course are introduced to the highly dynamic field of marketing. Marketing is based on the premise that successful marketing of goods, services and ideas is fundamental to the functioning of our society. The major focus of the course is on understanding marketing, analyzing marketing opportunities and planning marketing strategies related to product, promotion, price and place.

Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this course begin with an examination of the different methods and information sources used to forecast an organization's need for human resources. Then, the course addresses various recruitment techniques, with emphases on the identification of effective sources and media for particular types of jobs, and on the design of effective recruitment messages. The third and largest portion of the course examines the range of tools and techniques used to select the best candidate from a pool of recruits, including Application Blanks, Interviewing, Selection Tests, and Background (Reference) checks.

Esports 102
Through the Business Administration Diploma with specialization in Esports Management, students have the tools needed to enter the exciting world of Esports through their project with your company. Through their studies, students will develop the skills needed to start a career in the industry as a league administrator, coach, marketer, media content manager, and more. This introductory course explores current events, organizational and ethical issues of the global Esports industry including the examination of contemporary issues from a variety of perspectives. Our students can work on a contemporary issue that your company is facing and offer actionable insights.
Organizational Behaviour

The purpose of this course is to provide advanced knowledge in the area of human behaviour in organizations. It examines selected major topics related to individual, group, and organizational processes. An awareness of the issues surrounding organizational behavior is a critical component of a company’s ability to thrive and be competitive. An understanding of organizational behaviour can shape the way we view the workplace, and enable us to function more effectively within it Students are looking to analyze and understand the human side of an organization. This can include understanding the impact of power politics, personality, motivations, performance management and employee engagement. They will be able to conduct simple assessments of these features and provide feedback.

Sage 50 Accounting: Entering transactions, Generating Financial Reports & Creating a Sage 50 Accounting Backup File
BUS 204A
In this project, students will prepare financial statements for your business, giving them a learning opportunity and providing you with an opportunity to assess talent for your hiring pipeline. For this opportunity, we seek companies in Alberta that offer a small number of items or services. The projects will intend to transfer a minimum of one (1) month's transactions, up to the maximum of three (3) month's transactions, from a previously used bookkeeping platform to the Sage 50 Accounting platform.
